Sleepless nights for Mama

Since I've been sleeping through the night for about three weeks now, Mama and Papa have been getting some pretty good sleep.  Naturally, I decided to change things up.  Last week I learned to roll over from my back to my tummy.  Now when I go to bed at night, I promptly flip over so Mama can't see my face on the monitor.  I giggle every time she gets up to make sure I'm still breathing.  :-)

My first chair

Grandma bought me a little camping chair to sit in, but since we don't have any plans to go camping, I thought I would break it out and have a seat in the living room.  My legs aren't quite long enough for it yet, but I had fun reaching for the toys Mama clipped onto it and pulling myself to sit upright.

Surprise!

Mama's work shifts are strange...a half-hour here, an hour there.  She gets a short break between assignments, but usually fills them with feeding me and other chores.  Tonight me and Papa surprised her and had bath time while she was working so she could just relax with us on her break.  She was so happy when she walked out of her office and saw this:

Mama's night off

Mama had a girls' night out at the Magic Castle tonight and left me home alone with Papa.  Just as Mama predicted, everything went off without a hitch!  Me and Papa got along famously. Grandma checked in on us just in case.  Here are the reports:

Brea 8k

Today I joined Mama and Grandma for the annual Brea 8k.  They picked me up from Papa and Opa about a mile in and dropped me back off with them just before the finish, so technically I only did a 5k, but not a bad start for a 3-month-old!

Hiding spot

Miss Lexi Lou kept a close eye on me this afternoon while Mama and Papa assembled their new storage shed.
It's a little big for me right now, but in a couple years this will be the perfect spot for hide-and-seek!

Disneyland or bust!

Toys!

I'm finally starting to show an interest in all the toys I have laying around.  I've been smiling and swatting at Sophie the Giraffe, but today my favorite was my Dallas Cowboys security blanket from Great Aunt Sally.  It even has a little teddy bear attached.  I was holding him, cuddling him, and made Mama and Papa laugh when I used him to cover my face.  I love how soft and fuzzy he is!

Rolling over

Since I'm not a fan of tummy time, I decided to find a way to get out of it all by myself.

Sunny So Cal

What I love about living in Southern California is that even in February it's warm enough for a cute little sundress!

Brandon & Lindy

Today we drove to Yucaipa to visit Papa's friends Brandon and Lindy.  They live in a beautiful house at the top of a hill and have a pool in the backyard.  Mama dipped my feet in the pool and it was so cold that it made me cry.  But I enjoyed the rest of the afternoon outside staring at the mountains.

Happy Valentine's Day

Today was my very first Valentine's Day.  I got to spend the whole day with Grandma and Opa in my new beautiful dress from Grandma Geeps and Poppa Danny.
In the morning, Grandma took me to her church to visit Miss Rose and Jeanie.
Then in the afternoon, we traveled down to San Clemente to visit Aunt Sally.
Mama's Uncle Danny, Aunt Gayle, and cousin Matt were in town visiting, so I got to meet them all for the first time.  Aunt Gayle had a cold, so we didn't get to hang out much.
Me and Uncle Dan having a staring contest.
I had fun chattin' it up with Matt.

30 years from now...

I imagine I'll look something like this:
But Grandma thinks I'm much cuter (and less creepy) like this:

Super Emma

I've been working on lifting my head up, but I'm not a big fan of tummy time.  Mama found a way to make it fun by putting me on her legs while she lays down and sways me from side to side.
It usually gets a good smile out of me, but this time my tummy wasn't feeling so good and I might have thrown up a little...oops!

Visiting Aunt Stacey

Mama had a doctor appointment today so Grandma came over to hang out with me.
When Mama got home, the three of us headed over to Aunt Stacey's school for lunch. I only got to play with her for a few minutes, but I always love seeing her!

Naps with Lexi

Mama and Papa usually keep the gate up on my door to keep Lexi Lou out when I'm inside. Today while Mama was working, she put me down for a nap and left the door open. When she came to check on me, she found Lexi Lou right next to my crib. I knew she loved me!

Sprouts

Went grocery shopping with Mama today. Got bored. Took a nap.

A face like this

It's a good thing I look like this:
Otherwise, Mama would've been a lot more upset when I threw up down the back of her shirt tonight!  :-D

Big baby or small sink?

This is just getting ridiculous, Mama.  When can we move to the tub?

Cone head

When I came into this world, everyone in the delivery room giggled at how big of a cone head I was.  I was even 1/4" shorter the next day after it went down a little bit.  Since then, I've become more shapely in the noggin, but there's still a bit of height on the back end.  I was referred to Cranial Technologies by my pediatrician to see if the pros thought I needed to wear one of these:
They use 3-D images to determine if there's a problem.  In order to get a good picture, they put a funny little stocking on my head.
Does this stocking make my face look fat?
I smiled pretty for the camera and waited for the results.  After looking at the images of my dome, the doc said that I'm perfect just the way I am.  I could have told her that!  ;-)  I mean, it doesn't get better than this.

The infamous bionic chair

This chair has been in our family for a long time. Mama and Aunt Stacey used to play in it all the time when they were little. I'm hoping Grandma and Opa will hold onto it until I'm a little bigger. Looks like the perfect place to snuggle up with a good book.

Surf City Half Marathon & Super Bowl

We finally got out of the house again today.  Mama, Grandma, and I headed down to Huntington Beach to watch Auntie Allison and Michelle run in the Surf City Half Marathon.  It was my first time watching a marathon and I had so much fun!  Auntie Allison set a new personal record...I think she was running so fast because she couldn't wait to see me at the finish.  :-)
Auntie Allison, Mama, and me at the finish.
It was Michelle's first half marathon too!
After running some errands, we headed home where I stared at the lights while Papa watched the Super Bowl.  I would've watched too, but anyone else who saw it will tell you that the lights were more exciting than the game.  :-)

The vet

Today we took Miss Lexi Lou to the vet because she's having a hard time with one of her feet.  There were SO many cute doggies there.  It was the first time in my whole life -- yes, all two and a half months of it -- that I wasn't the center of attention.  Can you believe it?!  It was super noisy in there, but I slept the whole time.  Turns out my "big sister" ruptured a ligament in her knee (ouch!), but with some rest she should be okay.
