We're ready!

It's official...I've been sleeping in my big-girl room for a week now.  I love having the freedom to get out of my bed when I wake up in the morning, but Mama thinks it's kinda creepy to see a little "leprechaun" waddling down the hallway first thing in the morning.  I'm so quiet that sometimes I sneak right up to the bed while she's sleeping and surprise her when she opens her eyes.

Today Grandma and Mama officially made the nursery Maddie's by adding her name to the wall.

When we had a party to celebrate Maddie's upcoming arrival, Mama's friend Judy gave us her rocking chair from when she was a little girl.  Mama set it up in Maddie's room so I can spend time with them when she's eating and getting ready to sleep.

I can't wait for my little sister to get here! 

Sandbox

Since it's always sunny in Southern California, we've been spending quite a bit of time outside.  Papa's been trying to fix it up nice for me so I'll have lots to keep me entertained.  I have a playhouse, a pool, a slide, and last weekend Papa and Opa built me a fun little sandbox.

It's just the right size for me, and when it opens up, there's a little bench for me to sit and eat my snacks.

But the best part is there's plenty of room for my little SISTER to join me when she arrives this summer!!

My first birthday party!

I turned one year old on Wednesday!  Here's what I think about that:

But I decided to celebrate anyway, so we went to Yorba Regional Park today.  Mama, Papa, Nana, Opa, Great Aunt Sally, and Great Grandma Modine all showed up to celebrate me!  I haven't seen Great Grandma Modine since my baptism, so I wasn't quite sure about her at first.

Papa took me down the slide on the playground...

...and I got to play with all the balloons Nana picked up for me.

I got lots of new toys and can't wait to make a big mess with them in the living room!

Of course, no party is complete without cake.

I'm lucky to have so many people who love me!

Disneyland with Papa!

This morning I asked Papa if he wanted to have an impromptu Disney date with me and Mama.  I was so surprised when he said yes!  The first thing we did when we arrived was take the Disneyland Railroad from Main Street to New Orleans Square.

We got FASTPASSes to Haunted Mansion and then visited Santa at Big Thunder Ranch.  The last time I saw him, I was only two weeks old.  I wasn't quite as fond of him this year.

We spent the rest of the afternoon waiting in line going on rides.  We went on Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Dumbo, Snow White, and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

I even got a birthday button (although my birthday isn't for three more days).

I had such a fun day with my family!

Thank you, Papa, for fighting the crowds to have fun with me!  I love you!!

The countdown is on...

In 7 days I will be ONE YEAR OLD!  Every day I show Mama and Papa how much I am growing up.  This week I showed them that I can say "no" by shaking my head back and forth, and I used a spoon by myself for the first time.  I even got some of the food in my mouth!

Yesterday, Nana took me shopping and let me pick out two pairs of walking shoes!  I wore the silver ones to Story Time today.

Santa Ana Zoo

Last week, my friend Lucas and I took our mommies to the Santa Ana Zoo.  We got to see monkeys, birds, and an emu.  But our favorite part was riding the choo choo train!
